The Pinnacle of Eco-Friendly Accommodations: Three Hotels Leading the Way

What does a green hotel really mean? With more and more travelers concerned about the environmental impact of their vacations, companies should take heed. The International Design Hotel chain exemplifies this philosophy through its three members: the SoHo New York Hotel Crosby Street Hotel, The Scarlet in Cornwall, and Topazz Vienna.

The Crosby Street Hotel in New York is renowned for being one of the city’s most environmentally friendly hotels. During its construction, all hazardous materials were removed and rubble was recycled. Energy-efficient lighting and green energy are used throughout the hotel, along with a system that minimizes water use. The hotel also features a rooftop vegetable garden that supplies its restaurants with seasonal produce. Inside, the hotel boasts 86 rooms and suites spread across 11 floors, with a strong emphasis on colors, fabrics, and furniture, mainly created by American designers like Philadelphia-based Galbraith & Paul.
