We are just north of the capital, Prague, where you’ll find the Hotel Ještěd, which looks like a tall, sharp pagoda. The base of the hotel has large windows that offer a stunning 360-degree view of the surroundings. The hotel was designed in the late 1960s by architect K. Hubacek and features 38 beds split among 2 suites, 12 double rooms, and 5 budget double rooms rated at one star.

Guests can reach the hotel via a cable car, but it only operates in good weather, as snow and storms are quite common. Recognized as one of the seven wonders of the Czech Republic, the Hotel Ještěd offers affordable rates: just €133 per night for a family suite with a mountain view.

The rooms, however, appear to be stuck in the 1970s, complete with dated carpet and furniture. Despite this, it’s a charming experience to step back in time and enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere for a few days.
