The Allianz Arena: Bavaria’s Bavarian Gem in Munich

The Allianz Arena in Munich, often nicknamed “the boat,” has quickly become a Bavarian icon since its opening in 2005. It’s not only popular among football fans but also attracts many tourists. Visitors can explore the stadium either individually or in groups every day of the year, except on December 24-26, December 31, and January 1. The stadium is closed to the public during football matches and special events like concerts when it’s used by Bayern Munich and TSV 1860 Munich.
The guided tour of the stadium, which lasts about an hour, includes a visit to the changing rooms, the tunnel leading to the field, and a conference room. Tours are conducted in German, but there is an English tour available once a day at 11 AM.
Getting to the Allianz Arena is simple. Take the subway U6 towards Garching and get off at the Fröttmaning station. From there, follow the signs to Markenwelt on the third level. Tickets cost €10 for visitors aged 14 and older, €6.5 for children between 6 and 14 years old, and are free for children under 6.
