The Can Sleep Hotel, a place that Homer Simpson would probably dream about, is one of the big attractions of the Smukfest music festival. This festival is held every summer around Skanderborg Lake on the Jutland Peninsula in Denmark. Because this hotel is so unique, it only opens for one month each year. Rooms are assigned by lottery during the festival, so only a lucky few will get the chance to sleep and wake up inside a beer can. If you don’t get a room, you can still enjoy camping in tents near the lake, which is a great experience too.

The rooms aren’t huge, as you’d expect. They measure about 2.20 meters in diameter and 3.75 meters in height, but the space is used really well. Each room fits two people over two floors. When you enter, there’s a living room with a minibar stocked with beer. Upstairs, there’s a large, round bed. Despite being inside a can, the rooms are quite comfortable.

There are 121 of these can-rooms, designed to look like the cans made by the Danish brand Royal. They are grouped in sets of six, just like the six-packs you find in stores. Everything is thought out carefully to give beer enthusiasts a one-of-a-kind experience.
