If you decide to holiday on a Greek island, you’ll probably fall in love with the sea and enjoy the beautiful beaches and cliffs where you can dive and swim in clear, transparent waters. If you\u2019ve picked the island of Zakynthos, there are a few spots you need to check out for a great swim in the blue waters.<\/p>\n
Many travel blogs suggest starting from Piazza San Marco and leaving the city for about ten minutes. You’ll pass the harbor and tennis courts to reach a spot often visited by locals. There’s a small lawn with easy access to the water and a nearby tavern providing all the essentials for a perfect outing. Alternatively, you can take a boat from Porto Roma or Agios Ioannis for marine excursions to the arches and caves of Keri. The boats anchor here, allowing you to swim in the crystal-clear sea. These trips usually continue to Marathonisi Island, which features a stunning white beach where turtles occasionally stop by.<\/p>\n
Navagio Beach is featured on almost every postcard of Zakynthos. Captured from above, it is surrounded by high cliffs and features the large wreck of a rusted ship \u2013 probably the most photographed beach in Greece. On the western side of Port Zante, you can find Limnionas, a coastal area with rocks and pine trees that extend almost to the sea. This spot is perfect for those who aren’t afraid to dive from the rocks.<\/p>\n
If you prefer your feet in the sand, you can visit Gerakas, Dafni, and Port Zoro, which have a large rocky islet ideal for snorkeling enthusiasts.
